Who is a young carer?

Young carers are children and young people under the age of 18 who provide care, assistance or support to another family member who is disabled, physically or mentally ill, or has a substance misuse problem. They carry out, often on a regular basis, significant or substantial caring tasks, taking on a level or responsibility that maybe inappropriate to their age or development. This can include providing practical and physical and/or emotional support.

If you believe that your child may be a young carer please contact Mrs Butler who supports our Young Carer's in school.

Outside agencies are also able to offer support and these include:

Women's Aid

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. As a federation we provide life-saving services across England while building a future where domestic abuse is not tolerated.

Support for Men

Respect is the UK charity stopping perpetrators of domestic abuse. We want a world where everyone is free from domestic abuse.

We change minds across England and Wales by making mental health an everyday priority. By standing up to the injustices – in healthcare, in work, in law – which make life harder for those of us with mental health problems.

NSPCC

If you're worried about a child, it can be hard to know what to do. We've got information and advice on different types of child abuse, how to spot the signs and what you can do to help keep children safe.

Too many families in the UK live every day with feelings of isolation, exclusion, judgement, stress and anxiety because the world around us is not set-up to help their children live life to their full potential.

Little Miracles exists to help everybody experience the joy that comes with a family. A place of friendship, understanding and safety where happy memories are made.
